The Equinox is a powerful time of transformation where there is equal amounts of darkness and light, night and day. It is the moment of crux, where the life force begins to flow again, and we prepare to move into a season of growth and expansion. But before the acorn turn into an oak, before the egg becomes a bird, before a caterpillar becomes a butterfly, before an architect builds their masterpiece , there is the cultivation of the inner vision, a blueprint of expansion, transformation and growth.

This part of the creative process takes place in the darkness of the inner laboratory; and each being must attune itself to their own particular blueprint of growth. At this time of year, or at this phase of the creative process, there needs to be equal parts light and dark, yin and yang, contemplation and movement.

The Inner Alchemical Laboratory Each week in this 6 part series is designed to be like a ceremony, where we cultivate a sacred space to connect with our own voice, cultivate our inner vision and align with the energetics of the season.

The Free and Easy Wanderer

When the wood element energy and the liver and gall bladder meridians are weakened or obstructed through chronic stress, we can experience pain in the body, emotional fluctuations, feelings of aimlessness, lack of inspiration, lack of inner vision, anger, frustration, menstrual irregularities, digestive problems and the list goes on. This is because of the vital role our Liver and Gall Bladder Meridians play in ensuring the smooth flow of our vital life force through our whole system.

Yin Yoga, essential oils and Creative Flow

Through Yin and Hatha Yoga practices as well as the use of essential oils on acupoints, breathwork, guided meditations and weekly journalling and creative prompts, this series is designed support the Wood Element and the Liver and Gall Bladder Meridians to be in balance and flow, to support us in dreaming into the future, coming up with creative solutions and ways to flow around obstacles with more ease.

The Third Eye and The Heart Chakra
There will be an emphasis on connecting to the heart space, the Anahata Chakra , through compassion and creativity as well as our third eye, the Ajna Chakra to help us in cultivating the power of imagination and self expression.

From Water to Wood Element

In this 6- part yoga series, we will work with the energetics of the season, nourishing the gestational power of the water element, while encouraging flow for the energetic moving energy of the wood element. Wood is a growth oriented element - it wants to move, express, expand and be free. It wants to flow around obstacles with a balance of flexibility, strength, imagination and resilience. The Wood Element is governed by the Liver and Gall Bladder Meridians, and also relates to the sensory organ of the eyes, and the imagination.
